Jesus has been introduced by Matthew as the one who has full rights to the throne of David. He has come as our King, Our Shepherd, Our Immanuel, and Our Savior. His credentials have been given. John the Baptist will pave the way. Jesus will be baptized, endure temptation, and call the disciples. This is the foundation laid for Jesus public ministry. What can we learn from it?
